Head skis rarely lack for power and precision, and the 105 is no exception. But by dialing back the beefiness a notch (there's no metal), its designers produced Head's most successful ski in the test. Without topping a single performance criteria (though it was virtually tied in Balance of Skills) the 105 topped the category in Overall Impression. Never too much, never too little, it's a study in versatility. Which it ought to be, given the price. "Great ski," said Preston. "Nimble, quick, powerful."
