The flashy Venture 130 has all the fundamentals down in solid fashion—fit, stance, performance. It even has a hike mode feature—which you wouldn't know unless you specifically looked for it. It skis that strongly. Testers agreed that the Venture fit a little shorter than average in length but that this 98mm trends toward a snug-medium width. All agreed that the lateral control and steering accuracy was there in spades while simultaneously maintaining a warm and comfy fit up in the forward cabin. Forward flex feel was even and on target for a 130 level boot. Testers said the simple, functional cuff release mechanism did nothing to negate the boot's solid rearward support. The boot is stout and stable to a fault—a lightweight it is not. This isn’t an AT boot—just a great boot with a hike mode.
