Beyond just a good first foray into the modern all-mountain boot market, the Pinnacle 130 LV was one of a few hike mode boots that testers ranked in the top half of all boots in our narrow width category, regardless of cuff release modality. Testers liked all the design elements that the Pinnacle shares with its non-cuff release K2 brethren: a neutral balanced stance (universally liked by testers), a great shell shape (nice contours for bony spots, i.e. navicular), a lively and progressive flex feel that doesn't collapse, and rock-solid stability under fire. On top of the basic K2 boot platform, testers applauded one of the best cuff release mechanisms of the test (long, smooth range forward and back). The fit and skiing performance wasn't quite as crisp as the test team found on K2's similarly narrow non-hiking Spyne 130 LV, but it didn’t miss by much.
