If the blue boot doesn't dominate World Cup equipment standings the way it did until recently, it's more for reasons of sponsorship money than performance. Today's big-name racers have more alternatives, which makes it harder to turn down a lucrative contract. But the 150 remains as fundamentally quick and precise as ever. The venerable "RL1" design has been tweaked: 5 percent more forefoot room, a more flexible sole, a stiffer flex. But the new World Cup retains defining Lange characteristics: tight heel-hold, offset ankle hinges, 3-degree ramp. Testers agree that if you can work out fit issues, it's a great high-octane freeski boot. Testers call it "surgically precise."
