The XT 130 LV was the only hike mode equipped boot to score in the top third of the category. Yes, it skis that well. Testers unanimously agreed that this year's revised Power V-Lock walk mode created no loss of transmission or sensitivity and they loved the convenience it provided. Two observations were common on tester forms-the instant comfort and instant balance that the boot offered right out of the box. The complement of features and adjustments for fine-tuning stance and upper cuff fit are minimal but functional. There were some gripes that the liner lace system required a little sorting out for entry and exit but it adds a sweet closure customization component for those who choose to utilize it. The laces come in the box, not pre-installed. Tester comments: "Those who are lucky enough to fit into this narrow slack-country boot get a high-powered gift." "Top notch, do-it-all ripper. Strong and powerful but still easy to ski."
