Pro With this new boot, Rossignol worked hard to blend comfort and convenience with respectable performance. The shell uses four different plastics to maximize energy transmission, improve wrapping of the foot and ease entry/exit. Aluminized insulation bonded to the inner wall of the shell improves warmth. Rebound is enhanced by an elastomer cylinder on the spine and rubber wedges between the upper and lower cuff. Testers felt it would work best for the least-aggressive skier. It's comfortable, though flex is a bit floaty and rearward support is spongy. "It's laterally stable," said Sabanosh, "and it steers accurately if you stay out of the back seat." The Instinct version incorporates female-specific features, including softer plastics in the cuff and over the instep. Con Too much room for all but high-volume feet. Top Scores Entry/Exit 3.3, Adjustability 3.0, Closure System 2.6
