Schlep-Koz Go 14-15 in Cortina GS

Cortina D' Ampezzo, Italy, Jan. 27, 2002 -- Norwegian Stina Hofgard Nilsen tore through the second run to overtake teammate Andrine Flemmen for her first World Cup victory Sunday, while Americans Sarah Schleper (Vail, CO) and Kristina Koznick (Burnsville, MN) finished 14-15 in the final women's World Cup race for the U.S. The U.S. Olympic Alpine Team will be announced Monday.

Outdoor Life will televise coverage of the GS Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.

Nilsen had the second-fastest second run to win in 2:44.37 while Flemmen led the first run but had problems in her final run, dropping to second, six-tenths back.

Schleper was 14th with a time of 2:46.54 with Koznick 15th in 2:46.58.

The women's side of the Cafe de Colombia World Cup moves on to Are, Sweden for the final pre-Olympic races. There will be a giant slalom, downhill, slalom and a combined calculation starting Thursday.
