Festivities begin on July 1 with the second annual Regatta and Hope it Floats Contest with a BBQ, music, kid's activities, kayaking, and fishing. All activities are at the Snowshed Base Area. The cost is $5 per person or $12 per family.

Traditional activities take place in town on July 4 with a parade, picnic, live music, silent auction, fireworks and more.

The 11th annual Bethel Art fair kicks off on July 1 featuring a youth art exhibit, children's activities, food, and entertainment.

On the Fourth of July the Moontide Water Festival takes place with games for adults and children, an antique car show, craft show, flea market, food vendors, and 'Salute to the Nation' with a flag from every State in the Union. That evening a fireworks display and live entertainment will take place in celebration of Rumford's bicentennial year.

The annual Independence Day Gala Celebration begins on July 2, with special activities and events for the whole family such as sack races and a pie-eating contest. Snowshoe starts off the holiday weekend with a Bluegrass Festival. The festival includes eight different bands and takes place on the mountaintop 'base area' and costs $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event.
