Take advantage of the beautiful Steamboat scenery and take the kids on an easy path to a beautiful waterfall. Pay the 5-dollar parking fee, then stroll along the short, paved, and wheel chair-accessible path to the first waterfall overlook. The path is slightly uphill, but is very doable for smaller children. During the winter, if you’re lucky, you might catch some ice climbers ascending the frozen waterfall. For a bit of a longer hike with the teenagers, keep going up the rocky path (about five miles) to a second waterfall. The longer hike is well worth the effort and time. Don’t forget your camera because the scenery is breathtaking and there are tons of wild animals scurrying around.
