Whistler and Blackcomb, BC

Cost: Two people, eight-nights, US$1,729.

What you get: This eight-night ski package for two includes five-days of lift tickets at Whistler and Blackcomb, a one-night stay at the Hotel Vancouver in downtown Vancouver, roundtrip airfare from Chicago, and the remaining nights lodging in the Coast Whistler Hotel.

What's happening: Continuing their annual tradition, Whistler will have its First Night Celebration--a non-alcoholic event with three stages for bands to play until the break of dawn. What you get: This package includes lodging in a one bedroom condo with an adjoining hotel room starting on December 30, and includes admission to the Millennium Celebration.

What's happening: The main event of Snowbird's Millennium Celebration is headlining the famous Duke Ellington Orchestra at the Cliff Lodge Ballroom. The party comes complete with dinner, dancing, and music by the Duke Ellington Orchestra commemorating 100 years of their namesake. For those who want to bee-bop around town, various restaurants will have planned menus and parties. A torchlight parade, fireworks, and a party for teens are also part of the Snowbird celebration.
