Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong will be in Steamboat, CO on August 8th to raise funds and awareness for cancer through his foundation, LiveStrong. Equally skilled on the mountain bike, Lance will take a group of riders on 26 miles of singletrack from Rabbit Ears pass to Steamboat ski area. This ride is open to those who have registered and raised more than $500 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Another option, the Mount Werner ride, takes place on the Zig Zag trail of Steamboat and will be fully supported. This intermediate trail features single track and double track, with banked turns and steep downhills. A $75 entry (plus $100 in donations) fee will get you gondola access and a ticket to an organic lunch at the top of the gondola, where keynote speaker and mother Linda Armstrong Kelly will share her thoughts on cancer.

Colorado Governor Ritter and 1996 Olympic bronze medalist and six-time Leadville 100 winner Dave Wiens will be participating in the ride as well. The grassroots ride, designed to raise cancer awareness in the cycling community, is this Saturday, August 8th, beginning at 8 am. Find more info at ride4yellow.com.
