Follow the intense garlic smell on Bridge Street into dimly lit Vendettas. Even though the service here can be a little on the slow side, and sometimes downright rude, they offer the best pizza in town for as little as three bucks. Stick to the classic Italian-American favorites like veal picatta and the lasagna al forno—lasagna layered with ground veal, sausage, and ricotta —or go for the pepperoni pizza. The New York-style pie is just greasy enough to coat the inside of your mouth, but not enough to make your fingers slippery or your stomach hurt. Apart from a solid wine selection and beer, don’t count on much more from Vendettas’ bar. The happy hour scene is raucous even though the drinks tend to be on the small, watery side. If you can get past the less-than-stellar service, Vendettas is incredibly well priced, serves up a great slice, and is a solid après ski hangout. http://www.vendettasvail.com/
