SKI is hiring a content editor/producer to get in on the action.
SKI is looking for a creative, hard-working, motivated content creator and editor to join the team in Boulder to cover the best sport in the world: skiing. We might be a bit biased, but we see it as a sweet job.
As a member of the content team of SKI, the flagship brand in the winter space, you’ll help with everything we do. Magazine issues, SKImag.com, enews, social media, videos, custom content, Catapult Creative Labs, online education courses, and anything else you, or we, can think of. We’re looking for a hungry, smart, passionate skier and content creator who’s willing to learn on the fly in an ever-evolving media industry, and take a leadership role on the SKI content team.
Write and post content to SKImag.com, including breaking news, gear coverage, destination content, profiles, videos, web curation and such.
Monitor and post daily on SKI’s social platforms.
Write and edit for SKI mag’s print issues, with an emphasis on gear content.
Generate stories ideas across all platforms, and manage assignments.
Evaluate and analyze traffic and analytics—for SKI’s website, social media platforms, enews, and other digital content—to optimize traffic, engagement, and geo-targeted goals.
Help produce weekly editorial and custom enews content and promotions.
Represent SKI in the field: at industry events, trade shows, gear tests, competitions and just about anywhere there’s ski-related action to cover.
Work closely with the sales and marketing departments to generate new creative content forms and projects for clients.
Be a passionate skier, with knowledge of the sport. (We know, that’s a given.)
Be a versatile and strong writer with previous journalism work experience, and an enthusiasm for all media content forms.
Have work-related knowledge of social and digital content and platforms.
Have work experience creating, assigning and editing content for a variety of platforms.
Be a gear geek. (We mean that affectionately.)
Be highly organized, self-directed, and willing to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, multi-tasking on multiple projects on a daily basis.
Be a team player, and comfortable with a rapidly changing media industry.
Have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Bridge), Google Analytics, and content management systems.
Have a working knowledge of HTML.
Always a Plus
A degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
Work experience in daily content creation or daily news media.
Work experience in video filming and editing, and photography.
Deep knowledge and experience covering gear and gear trends.
A collection of neon onesies.
