Burke, VT, Nov. 27, 2000--"We reached our goal with a day to spare and the support of the entire community," said Kirk Dwyer, Burke Mountain Academy Headmaster.
Burke Mountain was in dire straits only a few weeks ago. By November 14, Burke needed to sell 1,570 season passes in order to open to the public for the present season. Burke surpassed their goal with a day to spare, selling 2034 passes to date. Due to overwhelming responses, the mountain has extended the deadline for discounted season passes to November 30. After December 1, passes will still be available, though prices will increase by ten percent.
Weather permitting, the mountain will be open to the public on December 15. For more information about Burke Mountain and Burke Mountain Academy, check out www.skiburke.com.
