Mt. Crested Butte, CO, Feb. 18--Former President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter head to the slopes of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, CO, over President's Day weekend to raise funds for the Carter Center.

"This is our eighth year of hosting the Winter Weekend," Said former President Carter. "Each year, Rosalynn and I look forward to this opportunity to get together with our supporters and bring them up to date on how their donations have allowed the Carter Center to continue to assist people around the world."

President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter founded the non-profit Carter Center in 1982 to aid people suffering from war, disease, famine, and poverty. Ten exemplary Atlanta high-school students from FutureForce were chosen to be guests of the Carters' this weekend. The Department of Defense and Communities in Schools administer the FutureForce program to improve the leadership and living skills of at-risk teens.

Events take place from Feb. 16-20 and include daily ski outings, snowmobile rides, a town hall meeting, and a nationwide auction, always the high point of the event, set for on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. (MST). Among the offerings are a luxury golf outing for four at the Tournament Players Club Valley Course in Sawgrass, FL, an official all-star Game Rawlings baseball autographed by Roger Clemens, and more.
