Loveland, CO, Oct. 18--Ski season is here! Loveland Ski Area, CO, opens for the season on Tuesday, October 19.

"This is the second consecutive season for Loveland to be the first in the nation to open with a quality snowriding experience," said Scott Fortner, Loveland's marketing director. "We have a lot of anxious snowriders itching to get out and make the first turns of the season, and our elevation allows us to cater to this demand."

Chair #1 does the honors tomorrow by serving a top to bottom stretch of snow linking "Catwalk," "Mambo," and "Home Run" trails. Base depths vary between 10 to 20 inches over the mile-long run spanning 1,000 vertical feet.

Snowguns blew snow all weekend at both Loveland Ski Area, CO and Keystone Resort, CO with the aid of three to four inches of new snow from the skies. Keystone hopes to follow closely on Loveland's heels, by opening this Friday, Oct. 22.

Loveland's tickets will cost $25 for adults 15 to 69, $11 for children 6 to 14, and free if you're five and under or 70 and over. Loveland decided to extend its unrestricted season pass offer through October 24 costing $100 for children 6 to 14, $200 for young adults 15 to 22, and $300 for adults 23 to 69.
