Cadillac, MI, Dec. 5, 2001--Michigan has debuted what is believed to be the first ski television show on the Internet. Michigan Skier TV is an effort backed by Travel Michigan, the state's tourism website. The show presents ski features and news from around Michigan. The inaugural show, highlighted by a preview of the 2001-2002 ski season from Mickey MacWilliams, Executive Director of the Michigan Ski Industries Association, began "airing" on November 2. Future installments will include a 4-part interview with Boyne USA's legendary owner Everett Kircher and on-location visits to many of Michigan's ski resorts.

MichiganSkier.TV is being produced by Great Lakes Sports Publications,Inc., a company that posted the first golf magazine on the Web (MichiganGolfer.com) and produces MichiganGolfer.TV. The Michigan Skier television presentation is tied to improved content on the state's ski website, the launch of a companion MichiganSkier.TV website, an existing website (MichiganSkier.com), and a new e-mail newsletter entitled Michigan Skiing News. The sum total is an innovative web-based approach to promote Michigan skiing and snowsports. For the region's skiers, it's a bonanza of ski information.

Skiers can view the Michigan Skier TV shows via three formats: Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or Real Player. A Real Player audio channel is also available for those who want to just listen to the shows. The host of MichiganSkier.TV is SkiNet writer and SKI Magazine Midwest Editor Jim Neff.
