Getting There Fly into Portland and rent a car. Take I-95 North to exit 31B in Augusta, then take route 27 North to the mountain. From Boston, take I-95 North and follow the same directions.

When To Go You can usually schuss here from Halloween to May. But the days are warmest, the base deepest, and the crowds thinnest come March and April.

Activities Sugarloaf sports a new Turbo Tubing park. Also visit the Sugarloaf USA Outdoor Center with a Nordic trail network and Olympic- sized ice-skating rink (237-6830).

Don't Miss Breakfast at the Riverside Restaurant (265-4037) in downtown Kingfield for Belgian waffles topped with fruit.
