Utah Ski Exec. Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Salt Lake City, UT Nov. 15--Randy Montgomery, alongtime ski industry executive who most recently was working for the SaltLake Organizing Committee on the 2002 Olympics and was executive directorof the Alf Engen Ski Museum Foundation, died November 12, from injuriessustained in a motorcycle accident. Montgomery, who was 52, had previouslyserved as a vice president at Snowbird, president of Ski Utah and was anexecutive director of the Utah Sports Authority.

According to the Deseret News, Montgomery had been in a coma as a resultof injuries suffered in a November 6 accident. He also served on the Boardof Directors of Blue Cross and Blue Shield and was past president of theSalt Lake Acting Company. Montgomery also served on the board of theKimball Arts Center, the Park City Chamber of Commerce and the Salt LakeConvention and Visitors Bureau.

He is survived by his parents and four children, Heather Mastakas, MelindaSulhoff, Hannah and Harrison. Family members ask that in lieu of flowers,friends make donations in Montgomery's name on behalf of his two youngerchildren to First Security Bank of Utah.
