Yes, Lange makes a hike-mode boot (see the XT series). But the fixed-cuff RX, a tester favorite for on-hill performance, won’t abide the loss of rearward support that’s inevitable with a releasable cuff. The RX packs most of the power and precision of Lange’s famous blue boots (the race-ready RSes), but in a wider last that fits more feet. And if you just prefer the RX paint job to a blue boot, there are narrow-fit versions as well. Remiger: “Having a ‘Lange foot’ isn’t as exclusive a club as it used to be.”
