Resort Guide 2018: West #26
“From best terrain park in the world to runs for beginners to some rowdy hike-to terrain, Keystone has it all. Could improve upon grooming though.” - SKI Magazine Reader
It’s tough having a big family. Just ask Keystone. One of Vail Resorts’ almost one dozen offspring, scrappy Keystone works hard to distinguish itself among its larger siblings. Luckily, being the family-friendly resort has its perks, and it’s something Keystone does very well.
“Terrain for everyone, and it’s one of only a handful of resorts where beginners can ski from top to bottom.” Readers also take note of all the care Keystone has put into its terrain parks over the years—not just its massive Area 51 park, but also the smaller progression parks, which make it easier for younger kids to get in on the action. Keystone rates less than stellar in Terrain Variety and Challenge, but then families are the target audience. “Cruiser paradise! Love taking my family here.”
The phô bar at The Outpost atop North Peak is equal parts filling, belly-warming, delicious, and healthy.
The Kidtopia Snow Fort is a must for kids of all ages. Look for it at the top of the gondola on Dercum Mountain.
The Inxspot for yummy egg bowls, breakfast sandwiches, and the resort’s best coffee.
