World Championship Sports Network (WCSN.com) will offer an exclusive webcast of the FIS World Cup events in Kitzbühel, Austria. Fans will be able to watch Bode Miller try to beat Phil Mahre’s record during the famed Hahnenkamm downhill race, available LIVE on wcsn.com , starting at 5 a.m. ET on January 19, 2008.
WCSN provided exclusive coverage of Miller’s repeat win in the 78th Lauberhorn downhill, from Wengen, Switzerland. This first-place finish allowed Miller to tie Mahre for the most World Cup victories by a U.S. skier, with 27, on the longest track on the FIS Alpine World Cup.
Watch Miller’s amazing run to tie the record on WCSN.com, as well as key performances from Swiss skier Didier Cuche (second place) and Canadian Manuel Osborne-Paradis. Americans Marco Sullivan (7th place) and Steven Nyman (11th) also raced well on the 4.48-kilometer-long course, just a few seconds off from Miller’s pace.
Miller placed fifth in the Slalom event at Wengen, and now sits in second place in the overall World Cup standings, behind Austrian Benjamin Raich. Check out Miller’s diary from the road, as he discusses his first season with Team America, at www.wcsn.com/skiing .
