Early-Season Storms

Last weekend called for up to a foot in the southern Rocky Mountains. With high hopes, we headed to Copper Mountain, which was expecting the brunt of the storm.

First Turns of the Season at Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek Ski Area, in southern Colorado opened for the weekend, kicking off an early start to the season. They've already seen 44 inches of snow. If this is La Nina we're all about it.

Powder Tips1. Mt. Baker, Washington, averages 647 inches annually—the most snowfall of any lift-served area in the Lower 48.

Powderchaser: This Week's Storm Predictions

The Powderchaser doesn't have great news for us this week—not much snow in the forecast, sadly—but the long term forecast (the next seven to 14 days) is looking more promising for the intermountain West.
