If you missed the many closing parties last weekend, have no fear, the West hasn't called it quits yet. The next few weekends are full of parties, competitions and of course, pond skimming. Check out the spring events at the following resorts.

Whistler/Blackcomb, B.C.
Travel north to the former Olympic playground of Whistler, BC for the 17th annual TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. TELUS WSSF started last Friday, April 13 and continues through Sunday, April 22. Watch athletes compete in the Slopestyle, Big Air and Superpipe competitions. Then put your party pants on for free concerts every day followed by after-dark events like the Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown on April 19. Don't miss the Best of the Fest party and film showcase on Sunday April 22.

Alyeska, Alaska
Join the circus this weekend at Alyeska's Spring Carnival from April 20-22. Events include live music, tug-of-war, a Dummy Downhill competition and the Taco Bell Slush Cup pond skim on Saturday April 20. Say a final farewell to winter on Sunday April 29 with the end-of-season Island Party complete with live music and BBQ.

Mammoth Mountain, California
This West Coast resort is open until Memorial Day weekend with tons of spring celebrations to boot. April 20-22 is Mammoth's Spring Fest featuring competitions like Volcom's Peanut Butter and Rail Jam, the Active Brodown Showdown and pond skimming on Sunday. Cheer on the pros as they duke it out for prizes and a winning title at the West Coast Invitation on May 4 and 5. Mammoth closes on May 27 with a Memorial Day celebration complete with food, drink specials, contests, afternoon parties and snow volleyball. Check out the lift and lodging packages for the remainder of the season starting at $99.

Mt. Bachelor, Oregon
Mt. Bachelor's Springtacular has evernts every weekend until it closes on Memorial Day weekend. Grab some tequila and lime for the Kinko de Mayo party with tacos, music and salsa pond skimming on May 5. The following weekend is the Sammy Carlson Invitational and a two-day Shred with Laurenne Ross Camp for skiers on May 19 and 20. May 26-27 is closing weekend and 13 Oregon breweries are offering tastings as well as a BBQ and free concerts.

Squaw Valley, California
Squaw Valley is celebrating Earth Day this weekend on Saturday, April 21 with live music and a "Trashion" show. And what would a spring celebration be without a little pond skimming? On Sunday April 29, Squaw Valley celebrates closing day with the 22nd annual Cushing Crossing event.

Arapahoe Basin, Colorado
A-Basin has events all spring with free live concerts every Saturday through closing weekend. Like to show off in the park? Then prove it on May 5 and compete in the Huck, Rock and Roll competition. Or, you can forget the skiing altogether and hit up the Memorial Day Beach Party and Festival of the Brewpubs on May 27. For only $25 enjoy live music and as much beer as your belly can hold from some of Colorado's micro breweries.
