On Thursday, we brought you an exclusive interview with reigning GS champ Ted Ligety in the leadup to the men's World Cup opener in Sölden, Austria. On Sunday, Ted made World Cup history, winning the 2012 opener by 2.75 seconds, the largest margin of victory in a World Cup GS in 34 years. It was his sixth straight Sölden podium. Ligety will stay in Sölden to train for the World Cup slalom in Finland in two weeks while the speed skiers gather in Colorado for the opening of the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain next Wednesday.
