Maverick Mountain is one of those places that the people like to keep a secret, but this is 2,000 vertical feet of secret! Located just north of Polaris in the southwest corner of the state, Maverick averages about 200 inches of snow annually and since the mountain tends to be pretty uncrowded that snow sticks around for awhile. There is about 130 acres of skiable terrain with 22 trails all serviced by one double chair. There is also a handle rope-tow for the beginners and lessons for all abilities are available. Maverick is a great area for learning and enjoying a whole family skiing experience and while the terrain may now be as expansive as other areas, it's hard to beat what you get for the price you pay here.

There is a wide variety of terrain at Maverick. First-timers and early beginners will want to start out in the Discovery Area of the rope-tow. When you are ready to head to the top try Ridge. Intermediates can start there as well or maybe head down Toll Road or Thin Air. For the Advanced don't miss Rock'N Rock or Sleepy Hollow.
Maverick has a cafeteria in the base lodge with reasonably prices home cooked, casual fare and if you want to warm up by the fire head into the Thunder Bar. There is also a full rental shop and nursery in the lodge.
