DPS Cinematic's Inversion

DPS Cinematic's inaugural season of "The Shadow Campaign," a four-part web series, has dropped. Its ski film shorts will highlight Valle Nevado, Mt. Baker, Baldface, and Refugio Frey.

Inversions, Episode 4: WhenOlof Larsson, Santi Guzman, and Piers Solomon arrived at Baldface Lodge, the interior British Columbia location lacked its world-renown powder. Fighting against record low-tide early season conditions under gray and grim skies, the crew's best option was to take to the air—building jumps, getting upside down, and making lemonade outta lemons. But finally, for one incredible day, the clouds dropped into the valleys, creating a stunning inversion, and at last offering access to a few sunny bigger lines—proving that even the toughest trip can sometimes turn right side up.

Sun Dog, Episode 3: In DPS Cinematic's third episode, "Sun Dog," you'll meet a skier's best friend deep within the snow-capped peaks overlooking Bariloche, Argentina. Skier Santiago Guzman, lead by Conga, ventures into the hills. This short film has received film festival accolades from Banff Mountain Film Festival, Cold Smoke Winter Film Tour, and the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival. It's also been selected for the Banff Mountain Film Festival Global Tour.

Whitewash, Episode 2: In the second episode, "Whitewash," DPS Cinematic transports you to the Pacific Northwest. See Mt. Baker at its finest, as the DPS Koalas materialized for the deepest storm cycle of last season, skiing five consecutive days in a white, woodland paradise.

The Shadow Campaign, Episode 1: "The Shadow Campaign," like daydreams of Northern skiers during summer, focuses on the lure of skiing South America. DPS Cinematic drops its first webisode by paying homage to the continent where founder Stephan Drake hatched the notion of DPS. Watch below, to see Zack Giffin, Santiago Guzman, Olof Larsson, and Piers Solomon hunting for Andean pow.
