Whether it's the X Games, the Filmfest, or the veritable fashion alley that is downtown Aspen, Glitter Gulch is no stranger to competition. Even the bartenders duke it out. Sure, the town has enough 'tude-heavy drink slingers to slake the thirst of an English soccer stadium. But who among them pours the best drink?

Check out all the drinks and how to make them in the slideshow below.

To settle that question, town officials recently gathered top bartenders, set them up at 39 Degrees Lounge, the patio bar at the Sky Hotel, and staged the third annual Aspen Cocktail Classic. The boozefest (held on September 30), works like this: From 5 to 7, five judges (two of whom were from Skiing) compare taste, presentation, and creativity—then the public shows up, plastic "sample cups are hoisted, and DJs crank up the turntables. This year, the Aspen (Cream)* Dream, an vodka-spiked orange-daquiri created by Cantina bartender Adam Malmgren, was crowned champion. Here's a rundown of this year's entries. Recreate the drinks in your own home, but take our advice: Don't try all 23 in one night.
