Age when you started skiing: Five
Where did you learn to ski? Near Los Alamos, New Mexico, at Pajarito Mountain ("Little Bird").
When did it hit you that you could be a pro skier? "At 18, I decided skiing was going to be my life."
Current ski mountain: Chugach Range, Alaska
Results: Former U.S. Freestyle Ski Team member, mogul specialist. Rocky Mountain Mogul Champion, 1991. World Extreme Skiing Championships champion, 1995; top-three finishes in all other years competed. Top-five finishes in every freeskiing event entered including U.S. Extremes and European Red Bull comps.
Today: Big-mountain skier and owner/operator of Valdez H2O Heli Adventures in Alaska; 220 first descents, mostly in the Chugach, lots in Colorado, and two in Europe.
What's your favorite food? "New Mexican. I am from New Mexico after all."
What's your beverage of choice? H2O
What's your favorite band? "I like all the good ones but Hendrix is the ultimate artist."
What kind of car do you drive? Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel
Do you have a ski hero? "Jim Palmer. His motivation and his love for skiing are unmatched. He's the most inspirational skier I've ever met."

Pastimes off the hill: Kayaking, fishing, aviation.
Plans for the future: "I'm part of the Everest expedition in 2002 to ski the North Side with the Marolt Brothers, three Russians, and another American. Also, I plan to continue working on the business and to try and get everyone I can on a pair of skis."
Fat skis? "They're the only way to go, and they will definitely change your life."
