Winter X Games VIII Final Results


Another X Games has come and gone, but don't fret, 'cause unlike the Olympics, the Winter X Games will be back in Aspen, Colorado next year.

Winter X Games VIII, the signature winter action sports event, features the talents of more than 250 of the world's best action sports athletes competing in Moto X, Ski, Snowboard, Snowmobile, and UltraCross. The event was held at Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. through Jan. 27.

Winter X Games VIII marks the first time an X Games event featured live telecasts of the competitions. ESPN and ABC featured 15 hours of original live programming Jan. 24-27. In addition, ESPN2 presented daily late-night highlight programs from Jan. 25-28, resulting in 19 total hours of original programming for Winter X Games VIII.

Skier Superpipe to be Included at X Games

Two new events—male skier superpipe and snowmobile knockout—are added to the roster for the 2010 Winter X Games, planned for January 28-31 at Buttermilk in Aspen, Colorado. Plans don’t yet include women’s superpipe. We asked X Games competitor Jess Cummings why.
