Jessi was born to a family of foresters on Colorado's Western Slope and grew up skiing Telluride. After moving to the Front Range as a kid, she started calling Winter Park her home mountain and gave up rodeo for track and field and soccer. While at the University of Colorado, Jessi skied on the Freestyle Ski Team her freshman year and gave SkiMo racing a go for a few years after college, but will be the first to tell you she wasn’t very good at it.
These days, she enjoys backcountry skiing at a normal human pace, resort skiing and casual Nordic touring. After ten years in Boulder, she now calls west Denver her home base while traveling as often as possible for work and play. Aside from skiing, she's a recreational devotee of mountain biking, running, hosting lively dinner parties, hair whipping while dancing, and sleeping outside.
Jessi works at Warren Miller Entertainment where she oversees the social channels, athlete management, web content and produces the “Long Underwear” podcast, among other things. She’s a SKI Mag contributor and gear tester, as well as a freelancer writer and marketer who is passionate about travel, women’s issues, fitness, gear, film adaptations of her favorite books, and nuanced perspectives in current events and the outdoor industry.
