Rick Sorensen

Rick Sorensen is a former editorial intern at SKI Magazine. He completed his internship as a senior at the University of Redlands in Southern California, working towards an environmental science degree in climatology.

As soon as he was old enough to walk, Rick learned to ski in his backyard in Middlefield, Conn. on man-made snow from his father’s snow gun. He has since outgrown the backyard and has moved on to shredding the likes of Bear Mountain, Mammoth Mountain, and Squaw Valley. However, Rick has not lost touch with his east coast roots, as he returns to Connecticut each winter to work at his local ski hill, Powder Ridge.

When he’s not skiing, Rick can probably be found daydreaming about skiing or rewatching his favorite Warren Miller segments. He also enjoys mountain biking, camping, waterskiing, and sipping on a good craft beer by a fire with some friends.

Rick has a strong passion for outdoor adventure. He feels most at home in the mountains, either with skis on his feet or a camera in his hand, or both. Follow along with his adventures on Instagram @ricksorensenphoto, or check out more of his photography work on his website.
