If the Fischer Ranger 99 Ti skis were an over-the-table drug, the label would include “Maximum Strength” above the name. That’s not because these boards require maximum strength from the user, but instead provide a maximum amount of fun and power when descending the mountain. “Dominates mank, gnar, and all varieties of crusts, then lays down World Cup trenches when you hit the groomer,” says tester Mark Elling.
With a full wood core, two sheets of Titanal, sandwich sidewall construction, and a carbon insert in the front tip, these Fischer all-mountain chargers are designed specifically for skiers who love to go fast and hard every time they ski. Thanks to the aeroshape design in the shovel and tail, the skis are also best at high speeds. “Light but stable, floaty and nimble, stable enough at speed, and pretty good performance on piste,” notes tester Dustin Cook. “I’d take these to prom.”
All of the speed and power of the Fischer Ranger 99 Ti requires a forward stance that drives from the shovel to get the most from the ski. Upright, new-school style skiers might otherwise find the ski to be a lot to handle. Thankfully, the large sweet spot on this ski can coax those skiers into a more forward position as well, a trait that is hard to find in big, burly, metal-laden charger skis these days. “Simple, smooth, easy, stable, and fast. They enjoyed every condition that I found,” exclaims tester Michael Rogan. “The skis guided me through tight spots and smoothed out the rough patches. This ski has a huge range of applications.”
- Strengths: Quickness/Maneuverability (2nd in category), Flotation (3rd)
- Weaknesses: Balance of Skills/Versatility (7th), Crud-Performance (6th)

Fischer Ranger 99Ti – 2021 Men’s All-Mountain Ski Review

The Ranger 99Ti earned solid scores from testers across the board, with many commenting on the ski’s drug-sniffing-dog level of obedience and nimble versatility in a variety of resort conditions. While the Fischer didn’t necessarily stand out in any one category, the Ranger 99Ti’s consistency across the scoreboard makes a strong case for these sticks to be a solid one-ski quiver option for skiers in the East and West, especially those who prefer to go fast.
