The highlight of Line’s new freeride-backcountry Vision line is its Triple Hybrid Construction—or THC, for fans of jocular acronyms—which combines Aramid, carbon, and fiberglass laminates to reduce weight and smooth out the jitters carbon can sometimes produce. Testers weren’t quite sure of the soft shovel on hard snow, but the Vision appeased by floating through powder and day-old leftovers like a dream.

STRENGTHS: Quickness, Flotation

WEAKNESS: Hard Snow
