2022 Nordica Enforcer 94

Because it’s one of the wider entries in the Frontside category, the Nordica Enforcer 94’s top score in Flotation isn’t surprising. But the top scores in Crud Performance and Balance of Skill/Versatility are surprising considering some of the other heavy hitters in the category. These top scores might actually be because testers thought the Enforcer 94 is the heaviest of all the heavy hitters. “Beefcakes! You need to be moving pretty quick to make these bad boys turn,” comments tester Dustin Cook. “Definitely a lot less forgiving than a lot of skis in this category. Surprisingly nice in bumps and crud—the rocker makes them fun in those conditions. Definitely not for beginners, and even for experts, you need to work for it.”

Built with two sheets of metal and Nordica’s proprietary wood core blend, the Enforcer 94’s tip shape was modified last season to reduce weight without affecting performance. While there is more width and rocker compared to other skis in the frontside category, this ski shouldn’t be written off by anyone who prefers a frontside ski with a waist width in the high 80s. “I think the 94 is a great do-it-all for someone looking to split time evenly between groomed terrain and variable snow off-piste,” writes tester Jon Sexauer. “The skis demand some attention but aren’t too burly to beat you up for being out of position. “

A few of the shorter testers were a little uncertain about the Nordica Enforcer 94’s stiffness, noting that lightweight skiers with intermediate technique might compare them to standing on bricks or unruly boats. But skiers who can tip ‘em and rip ‘em will do exactly that, and love them all season long. Perhaps tester Drew Crosby puts it in the simplest of terms: “A stiff ski for expert skiers that like to go fast.”

  • Strengths: Flotation (1st in category), Crud Performance (1st)
  • Weaknesses: Forgiveness (8th), Quickness/Maneuverability (9th)

Nordica’s completely new Enforcer 94 creates a narrow, burly resort-oriented ski that has a strategically engineered rocker profile, a redesigned tip shape, and a modified construction that reduces weight without affecting performance. According to the SKI Test crew, the new formula results in a damp, powerful ski with a lot of bite on firm snow. The more speed and muscle testers put into these bad boys, the bigger the reward.

STRENGTHS: Stability at Speed, Overall Impression

WEAKNESSES: Playfulness, Crud Performance
