2022 Nordica Navigator 75 CA

Those looking for easy-to-use skis that will help enable a foundation of proper technique should reach for the Nordica Navigator 75 CA. Generous sidecut matched with a groomer-friendly 75 mm waist mean that this ski loves to be on edge at all speeds, but is still forgiving enough to allow the user to correct mistakes mid-turn and beyond. “Really easy to move with easy turn initiation,” comments rookie tester Otto Gibbons. “Can still hold a decent edge. A comfortable ski to get someone into the sport.”

While being especially easy to maneuver at slower speeds, testers found it could get up to a higher velocity than most of the similar skis entered in the value category as well. In other words, this ski is a great option for someone getting into the sport but wants a ski that can take them to the next level and beyond. “A fun, springy carver ski,” notes tester Luke Larsen. “A great learning tool to get arcing down, but still enough that you will enjoy rolling these skis over.”

Nordica optimizes the wood core construction with a carbon laminate, which gives the Nordica Navigator 75 CA life at all speeds. The brand also sweetens the deal by including a binding at a stunning $500 MSRP price. If you’re looking to get a teen or new-to-the-mountain friends on their way to good ski habits and proper carving, this is a great recommendation. “The Navigator doesn’t demand much input and is easy to ski,” says tester Jon Sexauer. “Mistakes can be easily corrected and, with their forgiveness, they don’t break down confidence. Well suited for a skier looking to carve and grow.”

  • Strengths: Forgiveness (4th in Category), Overall Impression (5th)
  • Weaknesses: Crud-Performance (10th), Flotation (12th)
  • Value Score: 8.39
