Waist Width: 103
Lengths: 168, 177, 186
The KUFO 103 is Armada’s lightest ski, weighing in at 1,585 grams (in the 177-cm length). It’s similar in construction to its big brother, the KUFO 108, just at a smaller width, ranging from 101 to 103 mm, depending on length. And unlike the 108, it features Armada’s famous EST tip and tail tapering, for a looser, slashier feel in deep snow, along with buoyant tip rocker for deep-snow flotation and camber underfoot for hardpack carvability.
Armada’s returning KUFO series of backcountry-freeride skis includes three models with waist widths ranging from 96 (Declivity) to 108 mm (KUFO 108). All are built to be as light as possible without sacrificing too much downhill performance. AR50 sidewalls are designed to decrease swing weight, Comp Bases are made of Armada’s fastest base material, Laminate Matrix integrates layered fiberglass designed for an optimal flex pattern, CK Stringers (strips of Carbon and Kevlar) are designed to give the ski pop, and 1.7 impact edges are slim and light, yet durable.
Armada, founded in 2002 by a collective of big-name freestyle athletes, is based in Costa Mesa, Calif. -C.D.
