Pro To mangle Shakespeare, "Thy Daddy should be as a god to thee." For powder worshippers, that’s not much of a stretch. By far the biggest conventional ski we tested, the Big Daddy was a favorite, especially among our strongest skiers. The new wider version is more manageable than Dads past. Its sidecut is more relaxed, and while it still only comes in one length (190 cm), it’s 3 cm shorter. But here’s the key: While its 145-mm tip is unsinkable, a narrower tail smears turn finishes more readily. Category-crushing scores in Crud and Hard-Snow Grip speak to its power, but it outruns the competition in Forgiveness too. Well done. "Quick yet agile, yet stable," said Preston. "Will work tight spots or big lines with equal aplomb." Con No metal, but still no quarter for weak or lazy skiers.
