The Magnum 7.7 Ti, with its narrow, carvy waist width, speed-greedy metal reinforcement and grippy vertical sidewalls, is the highest-performing system (binding-included) model in the Magnum series. It comes with a 12 DIN Marker Piston binding. The Suspension component of the IQ interface, available only in the 7.7, incorporates carbon-reinforced flex management arms that work in concert with an oil-filled piston underfoot to manage flex in a way that allows the ski to flex freely but calms vibrations quickly, especially reducing "tip-flap" so the ski is ready to engage and carve sooner in the new turn. The updated Magnum series is Blizzard's offering of frontside cruisers with moderate waist widths appropriate to everyday East and Midwest conditions. All but the low-end models in the series are built for reassuring hard-snow performance, with grippy, solid vertical sidewalls. And Blizzard gives all but one of these frontside cruisers just a touch of rocker tip and tail - to ease transitions and absorb shocks - though it's almost imperceptible. Models at the upper end of the line (8.5, 8.0 Ti, and 8.0 Ca) get full wood cores and are only sold flat (no binding). The top two models, Magnum 8.5 and Magnum 8.0 are reinforced with metal to perform quietly and confidently at the highest speeds on the hardest snow - the only difference being width (a more buoyant 85 mm in the 8.5; a carvier 80 mm in the 8.0). The 8.0 Ca gets a layer of carbon-fiber reinforcement for a lighter, snappier fell. The bottom four models, the 7.7 Ti, the 7.7 IQ, the 7.3 and 7.0, get less expensive foam cores which are reinforced with wood stringers (except the value-priced 7.0, which is an injected, all-foam core, with traditional camber and easygoing cap construction). The bottom four models are also offered only as system skis (bindings included). All Blizzard skis are built in the company's Mittersill, Austria, factory headquarters, near Kitzbuhel and the Kitzsteinhorn.
