This ski returned energy investment tenfold with some of the smoothest turns in the entire test. Featuring a tapered sidecut and an updated construction, the Wailer 106 remained damp and didn’t get kicked around like skis this light normally would. Two carbon fiber laminates sandwich an aspen wood core, and testers were stoked on its well-rounded turning abilities.
