The Chrome 74 features a turnier, tighter sidecut radius and a slimmer waist (74 mm) than the Chrome 78, as well as a softer flex, with laminates designed to better suit strong intermediates and less heavy or aggressive experts. It comes with a 12-DIN Look PX binding The new Chrome series embraces the carve and is built for maximized on-trail performance on the hardest of snow. The line includes three models ranging in width from the 78, for skilled technicians, down to the 72, a friendlier construction for novices and intermediates at lower speeds and edge angles. Subtle tip rocker allows feathering of the turn entry (a concept now accepted in race skis as it allows athletes to take more aggressive lines), while the rest of the ski is fully cambered for strong edge engagement and powerful turn finishes. All are wood core, full vertical sidewall constructions, variously reinforced according to its target skier ability. Laminates are staggered in length so the ski is thinner and more torsionally flexible near the tip and tail as needed to work with the ski's sidecut - Dynastar calls it Torsion Control.
