Waist Width: 79
The Glory 79 is Dynastar’s middle ground Glory series women’s ski, with a 122 mm tip and 79 mm waist. It’s short 12 m radius is intended for both weaving through tough-to-reach places and making quick, snappy turns, and while it’s designed to hold up well in fresh snow due to its versatile technology, this is also intended as a tool for carving the day away on groomers. For something similar but skinnier, check out the Glory 74. And for something similar but wider, check out the Glory 84 and Glory 89. This ski is part of Dynastar’s Glory series, which focuses on all mountain women’s skis intended to tear up any terrain. The overall construction of the series is highlighted by a light paulownia wood core with no metal laminates intended for decreased weight and light, lively performance. All Mountain Rocker technology brings moderate tip and tail rocker to help lift the ski up and over powder and other varied terrain, while a flat underfoot section and classic camber are designed for strong edge control. Natural Stance technology takes into account women’s lower center of gravity and shifts the ski’s pressure points to accommodate. Progressive 5-Point Sidecut technology moves the ski’s widest point slightly away from the tip and tail, intended for optimal turn imitation and reduced hooking. This is perhaps the most versatile women’s series Dynastar has to offer. Dynastar, based in Chamonix, France, was founded in 1963. Its U.S. headquarters are in Park City, Utah.
