Waist Width: 79
The Powertrack 79 is Dynastar’s skinniest Powertrack ski, with a 122 mm tip and 79 mm waist. The tip is designed just wide enough to chop through moderate powder with ease, but the 79 mm waist is designed to make this ski more hard snow-focused at the end of the day (only about 10 mm bigger than most of Dynastar’s race skis). If you like to rip groomers but find yourself in powder a couple times per season, this is a great ski to check out from Dynastar.
This ski is part of Dynastar’s Powertrack series, which focuses on all mountain skis intended for any terrain. The overall construction of the series is highlighted by a light paulownia wood core with no metal laminates, for a smoother tip-to-tail flex and decreased weight. All Mountain Rocker technology brings moderate tip and tail rocker designed to help lift the ski up and over powder and other varied terrain, while a flat underfoot section and classic camber provide strong edge control when you need it, designed to rip all terrain. Progressive 5-Point Sidecut technology moves the ski’s widest point slightly away from the tip and tail, intended for looser turn initiation and decreased hooking.
Dynastar, based in Chamonix, France, was founded in 1963. Its U.S. headquarters are in Park City, Utah.
