The Motive 74 is the skinniest ski in the Motive series, with a 120 mm tip and 74 mm waist. The ski is designed rip moderate off-piste conditions, but at the end of the day it’s intended to be a carving ski that spends most of its time on groomers (these dimensions are very similar to those of a race ski). The ski’s sandwich sidewall construction also incorporates ABS plastic in an effort to give it a forgiving flex profile that lowers the level of effort needed for powerful, 16 m radius (at 170 cm) turns. This ski is part of Fischer’s Motive series, which specializes in all mountain skis intended for any terrain. All Mountain Rocker is designed to lift tips up and over powder and other varied terrain for a smooth and powerful ride. This is perhaps the most versatile series Fischer has to offer, and it might be your best bet from the brand if you’re looking for one ski to last you throughout the season on a variety of terrain. Fischer, based in Ried im Innkreis, Austria, was founded in 1923. Its U.S. headquarters are in Auburn, N.H.
