It’s the widest ski in a category devoted largely to carving, but you can trust a Fischer to hold an edge. The Cold Heat does give up some quickness and grip, but the payoff is improved performance in soft snow. It’s built like a race ski (laminate construction, vertical sidewalls), but testers deemed it one of the best for taming crud, and they imagined it would have the versatility to make powder days fun. “Likes to be on edge,” said Moffatt. “Very comfortable at speed.”
