New to Dynafit’s line, the Huascaran is the company’s most flotacious offering. For its size, it’s as light as anything on the market, which saves your legs but causes some stability issues at speed. The turn shape is smooth and forgiving, and the ski wants to surf. Plenty of rocker makes it a great deep-day ski, but it also handles smooth cream cheese and smushy corn exceptionally well.

The ZenOxide returns as a stalwart of G3’s fleet. There are floatier and lighter skis in the world, but few that so capably manage the mélange of conditions a season can throw at you. With its stability and predictable flex and turn shape, it’s as close to a one-ski quiver as a backcountry ski can get.

Want a wide ski that won’t wreck your hip flexors on a full day of touring? The TX107 uses a lightweight Karuba wood core and a cap construction to give you girth without tonnage. Mild tip rocker and underfoot camber make for an easy turning but edgy ski that handles just about anything softer than ice.

Using a unique honeycomb core made of Aramid fiber, the Stelvio is remarkably light and energetic. While exploring Colorado’s Never Summer range, we found it sturdy in couloirs, fast in open bowls, and feathery on the skin track. It could stand to be a little wider and have some tip rocker for midwinter touring, but it’s perfect for big, soft spring descents.

The Lo 5 is a very versatile touring ski. With its rockered tip it’s wide enough for fresh snow, but it has enough stiffness and camber to survive the variable conditions one inevitably encounters on the tour. Built with carbon laminates, it’s super energetic and requires an athletic style of skiing, complete with hop turns and snappy carves.
