"Friendly." "Approachable." "Playful." The Machine loves to arc the groomed, testers said, but specializes in the soft stuff. It feels, they said, like it's built to be quick and edgy without going all race-ninja-Ginsu and taking the fun out of soft-snow days. There's metal, but only where needed (over the edges). A wood core, but not a burly one (milled-out air channels lighten and soften it). Deep, carvy sidecut, but enough tip rocker to mellow out the turn entries. McElroy: "Playful in all the right ways. K2 aims it at expert women who know how to carve a turn, or athletic women who want to learn. The Luv Machine's short, slalom-style sidecut radius favors quick turns. Its construction is designed to stand up to high speeds. The Luv Machine is available flat, but also sold as a system with an integrated 11-DIN Marker/K2 ERC binding.

K2's Bioflex cores feature flex patterns specifically tuned for the needs of women, with lighter woods down the middle for reduced swing weight and denser wood over the edges for solid edge grip. Channel Light Cores have grooves milled into them tip to tail to reduce weight and soften flex. The Luv Machine's core is a mix of fir, paulownia and bamboo, with metal reinforcement in the binding area for durability and high-speed calm. HybriTech Sidewall construction combines a sturdy vertical sidewall underfoot for edge grip, lightweight cap fore and aft for supple flex. K2's Speed Rocker combines 90 percent camber with 10 percent tip rocker to smooth the ride and enhance forgiveness and improve soft-snow flotation.
