Spyder, the brand that has outfitted the U.S. Ski Team in performance race suits and outerwear since the late '80s, announced today that they have entered into an agreement with ski celebrity Lindsey Vonn to promote consumer sales of Vonn-inspired custom graphic alpine downhill race suits. The designs, worn exclusively by Vonn during the race season, recognize the athlete's status and individualism, with hints towards the regular US Ski Team graphics the rest of the World Cup team wore.

Currently, the only place to find these suits for purchase is the US Ski Team online shop. However, a new design will be available at multiple race retail stores beginning in September. The graphic is said to be an update on her signature favorite hot pink plaid motif.

"I think these race suit designs are a great way to generate more excitement in our sport and especially appeal to girls and women. I want more females on race courses!” said Vonn.

The eight suits currently on the market are available at

An Interview With Lindsey Vonn

Ski racer Lindsey Vonn was just named Female Athlete of the Decade by NBC's Universal Sports. After months of waiting for an interview, we finally managed to get Vonn to answer some of our questions. But instead of asking her about the Vancouver Olympics coming up in February, we spoke to the two-time World Champion about what it's like being hounded by the press.

Lindsey vs. Julia: Catfight?

One girl's a media darling with a banged up shin and a medley of World Cup victories. The other is a Victoria's Secret-style vixen with a bad back and a gold medal. Ski racer Lindsey Vonn wants what Julia Mancuso's already got: an Olympic gold. You can watch them go head to head during Wednesday's Olympic downhill in Whistler.
