The 2017 Tom Wallisch Pro, new from Line, is a bidirectional midfat designed to meet the needs of X-Games star Tom Wallisch. It's a built on a sturdy maple/aspen wood core for responsive rebound energy and the durability to withstand terrain-park beatings. The Wallisch is a mix of forgiving cap construction riding on low, semi-edgy sidewalls and is designed to be almost equally capable skiing backwards or forwards, with symmetrical flex and near-symmetrical sidecut (117-90-112). Wallisch suggests a mounting point that's 3 cm back of center. Line Skis, founded in 1995 by early independent ski-making entrepreneur and twin-tip inventor Jason Levinthal, is a subsidiary of K2, which, along with Volkl, Dalbello, and Marker, is a subsidiary of the Jarden Group, which was itself purchased by the Newell Rubbermaid consumer-products conglomerate in 2016. Based in Seattle, Wash., Line manufactures its skis in China. Sister brands include K2 and Full Tilt. -J.C.
