Pro Almost identical to the Recon, the women-specific Lotta Luv puts up similar scores—most noticeably in Forgiveness, where it, too, leads its category. The main difference is the waist: It’s the same powder-friendly 78 mm in width, but on the Lotta Luv the narrowest part of the ski shifts a full 2 cm forward. K2’s female testing and design team is onto something. With their mass closer to the front of the ski, women found the Lotta Luv to be appreciably quicker than the men did the Recon, and they gave it considerably higher scores in bumps. In effect, it’s even easier to ski than the supremely forgiving Recon, without sacrificing power and precision. "It’s good for quick, easy turns in the trees, but it rips on groomers, too," said Sheinberg. Con Edge-grip is insufficient on ice and hard snow.
